David Raum insists he is not worried about playing more games, despite some players thinking it will directly affect their physical condition.

RB Leipzig’s Germany left-back David Raum, 26, has bucked the trend by backing an increase in the number of games played this season, after FIFA proposed a new-look FIFA Club World Cup in the summer of 2025 amid opposition from most stakeholders, he told WAZ on Saturday.

‘I have to say that I like playing more than training. Even though I’m still a young player, I always feel that I only get better through games. That’s why I’ve enjoyed the weeks in England. For me, that’s a privilege. There are no limits for me.’

‘I don’t want to get involve because I have no right to comment. I like the new format of the Champions League with eight teams. These games will be great games. For me, there are no limits,’ Raum said.

The new FIFA Club World Cup in the summer of 2025 and the new Champions League this season will mean clubs will have more games to play and players will have less time to rest, which has raised concerns among many.

There is also a comparison between former Leverkusen UFABET star Michael Ballack and current Bayer Leverkusen star midfielder Florian Wirtz, who played 11,501 minutes and 4,175 minutes when they were 21, a difference of almost three times.
